A “Dad’s Belgian Waffle feed” will be a new lodge
fundraiser this fall, replacing our past Hobo Day luncheon. On
Children under 5 eat free.
For $6 diners will eat an unlimited
number of waffles, sausages, strawberries, and a variety of flavored
syrups, plus juice and coffee. To
enhance our attendance numbers, lodge members will be selling tickets in
advance. The at-the-door price will be
the same. However, ONLY tickets
purchased in advance will be eligible for 3 door prizes!! Packages of 2 dozen, 3 dozen, or 5 dozen lefse
will be prepared and delivered to the three winners for either the Thanksgiving
or Christmas season. So, even if a
ticket holder would not be able to attend the waffle feed, their name could
still be drawn for the lefse prizes!
Because we anticipate many guests for our August meeting,
ticket books and sign up sheets for light-work detail will be available at our
July meeting. A specially marked
envelope will be provided each willing ticket seller for keeping the collected
funds separate (cash or Checks payable to Fjordland Lodge). Money and leftover tickets can be turned in
at anytime to Linda Vaa at Brookings Barbers, Robb Rasmussen’s Sioux River
Cyclery, Alfred Rude’s Home Furnishings, or at the September meeting (absolutely
then!!). Area sales should not commence until sometime after our August
meeting.
This may be one of
our most enjoyable fundraisers yet-------we’ll get to socialize and eat while
someone else does the cooking…and maybe three of us will win free lefse!

see what it was like.

a copy of this newsletter (extra copies will be available at the July meeting),
which has information about our August, September, and October activities?
