Opdalslag Festival

 

      The Opdalslag Heritage Festival will be held September 11-12, 2004 in Irene, South Dakota, with sessions at the Irene Community Center and Calvary Lutheran Church.

 

      Saturday, Sept. 11, begins with registration at 1:00 p.m., business meeting and coffee at 2:30, and a banquet at 5:30. Sunday, Sept. 12 begins with at worship service at Calvary Lutheran Church at 9:30 a.m. A noon lunch will be served at the Irene Community Center.

Tre Lag Stevne

 

      “Celebrating the Norwegian Spirt” is the theme for a gathering of descendants and friends of the Trøndelag, Gudbrandsdal, and northern Hedmark regions of Norway to be held August 4-7, 2004 at the Best Western Apache Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota.

 

      Registrations are encouraged by July 15. Stevne includes genealogy labs, seminars on cultural and historical Norwegian topics, musical entertainment, group picnic, tours, Lag photos, Norwegian craft demonstrations, vendor displays, Stevne banquet with traditional Norwegian foods and a chance to visit with others who share an interest in Norwegian heritage.
